Our Home Building Process
We receive a lot of inquiries about the steps involved in a home building project. As a result, we have put together an easy 7-step breakdown of our process from start to finish.
Step 1: Request a Quote
We have over 150 sample floor plans to choose from. Alternatively, we do a number of custom floor plans. There are certain questions we will need answered to provide you a more accurate quote. Those include the following:
- Where will your new home be located?
- What is the preferred size of the home you would like to build?
- What type of foundation are you planning? (basement, crawlspace, etc.)
- What is your timeline for building?
- What is your budget?
- Are there any particular upgrades or options that you would like to include? (laminate or vinyl plank flooring, jetted tub upgrades, gas fireplace, etc.)
At this point, our sales team will put together a quote based on the details provided. If the quote is accepted, we proceed onto step 2!
Step 2: Deposit & Submitting the Order
At this point, an initial negotiated deposit amount is taken and the order can be submitted to the factory to get the build documents and plans.
Step 3: Planning Phase
This is the most detailed step in the process. This is where our team will work with you to make décor selections and any changes to the plan and options. Once everything is finalized, we move onto Step 4.
Step 4: Upgraded Deposit & Releasing the Build
In order to release the build to the factory the client is required to sign off on the floor plan, options, and décor selections made during the planning phase. Additionally, a negotiated secondary deposit is received prior to the release.
The factory will start getting all of the materials together as the home awaits its turn on the production line.
Step 5: Building the Home
Once the home is on the production line it goes through a number of bays; from the base to the finishing, there are hundreds of people that will assist with the completion of the home.
Step 6: Delivery & Set-up
Delivery dates are booked with the consideration of the client’s schedule as well as the availability of the transportation crews. Our goal is to schedule a delivery date in conjunction with the projected offline dates that are received from the factory. After the home is delivered, the set-up is completed by our talented construction and finishing crews. Depending on the type of home the set-up can be anywhere from 1-4 weeks.

There are a number of things that need to get done during the steps above such as…
- Acquiring building permits
- Site preparation including foundation work
- Ensuring the site is accessible
- Utility hookups once the home is delivered
